Owners of a shopping mall in Modena, Italy, have switched to LED lighting for their 3,600 sq. meter parking area, perimeter streets and loading dock area. The parking lot and perimeter streets are now lit with Ledway Street lights on six-meter poles and the loading dock area is lit with Ledway wall-mounted lights from Ruud Lighting Europe, S.r.l.

Energy use was reduced by 75 percent by switching to LED lighting. Light output is far more evenly distributed with an average of 2.5 foot candles of light hitting the ground. Data from this initial installation will be used to determine potential energy and maintenance cost savings for other projects.
